Once again, Avtec Homes is sponsoring the Boo at the Zoo event at the Brevard Zoo. This is an event that your little ones will love – in fact, people of all ages will enjoy this thrilling presentation that combines the spooktacular sensations of Halloween and the appeal of live animals! Of course, October in Florida doesn’t come with the brilliant autumn foliage you see up north – but fall is still special! Boo in the Zoo adds to that magic and the childlike sense of wonder you get from a day at the zoo– with a touch of spooky Halloween fun.
This is the third year Avtec is taking part as the Presenting Sponsor for the Brevard Zoo’s signature event. The Brevard Zoo is an excellent community partner and a tremendous conservation leader, calling attention to the need for wildlife protection.
Every Saturday and Sunday in October, you can enjoy fun “themed weekends” at the Brevard Zoo, while you roam the park and see the animals. In addition, there are lots of trick-or-treat stations, spooky decorations, photo opportunities with costumed characters, and more.
Costumes are encouraged, by the way. We promise not to laugh at your owl outfit or pull your cheetah tail. In fact, you might spot Avtec Homes staff in our own creative costumes, with our faces painted or our shaggy tails dragging along behind us.
These special events are free with zoo admission, but you can also win tickets by registering at our site here. Who doesn’t love free? Just enter some basic information for a chance to win four tickets and an opportunity to see everything at no charge. Winners will be pulled every Thursday starting September 29. You can also enter the separate gift card contest, with winners to be announced November 1. When entering this special drawing, be sure you check off the box for “gift card.” With the approach of the holiday season, the gift card will no doubt come in handy for the lucky winners!
Special Themed Weekends
Our weekend themes through the month of October are sure to spark the creativity of young visitors. They promise to deliver the sense of magic so exciting for developing minds. Our Brevard Zoo is known for putting on a good show — especially when children can take part.
The first weekend is a pirate theme. The second weekend will be a circus theme, which fits very well with the Brevard Zoo’s extensive menagerie.
The theme for October 15-16 is magic, and the theme for the next week is fantasy. Both of these themes relate to the human imagination and its potential.
The final weekend in October will have a spooky Halloween “monsters” theme – so bring your screams! What kind of monsters? Well, you’ll just have to come and see.
